Happily Ever After Hours

This Strip Club Mom were one Southwest Florida's most iconic and influential bands.

From their formation in 1998, they wrote and recorded dozens of jangly indie pop songs about local flora and fauna, fishing as a metaphor for life, life as a metaphor for fishing, and growing up, all replete with a witty sensibility for pop culture and a healthy respect for hair metal.

Happily Ever After Hours includes the entirety of their four "studio" releases, spanning cassettes, EPs and a full-length CD release, as well as unreleased and live tracks and a complete lyric sheet.

Fisherboy 02:01
This still water, so very calm, like Darvocets and like Vietnam. Let's ride around all day in your Mazda Protege. I'll pay the bills if you stop taking pills and tell me why you frown when you come around. Allow me just a moment please, so I can get on bended knee and bring myself to just say "please" and "thank you for the joy." If I can't be your fisherman, can I be your fisherboy?
2.
Maybe me; maybe tonight. Rock and roll, big dynamite. Destination unknown, no need for a cell phone. Super-sonic, like chronic, hydro hempnotic, if it fits in the pocket you know it's donk rock. It's can to can, together we stand.
3.
Bob Evans 02:07
Good morning, it's 1PM and my job don't start until evening. We prefer that you dump your tray before leaving. There's nothing wrong with your sandwich, sir, you ordered it with cheese. There's nothing wrong with the way I act; would it kill you to say please. You can take a water cup and fill it with soda.
4.
Out the Door 02:36
Dogs will bark and trash will fly, fireworks go screaming by, and I shaved my head today for fun. That shit just sounds great to me, I also start by ruining the good time at anyone's expense. We can scam some beer for free and fly off in my Fury 3, 'cuz good taste has flown out the door. I also get off acting mean, no one tell me what I need; the words will fall on deaf ears.
5.
I often think about how much I loved heavy rock and roll. How Judas Priest, Ratt and Motley Crue saved my soul. Heavy metal today seems to have lost its edge. Today, sweet rock and roll is sour as a lemon wedge. Feel like Biggie Smalls, and he feels like makin'... I often think about how much I loved heavy rock and roll. How Judas Priest and. Get on your knees and pray for good old rock and roll. To cross the bridge of heavy metal, you have to pay the toll. Seth wants to cross the bridge of heavy metal, but he has to pay the toll-- like this! Seth's gonna pay that toll.
6.
It's always fun 'til someone gets hurt. Don't scratch my car, don't tear my favorite shirt. I'm a dog, you're a cat, we don't get along. It's simple as that. It's always fun 'til someone gets hurt. I don't need TV, it can't do a thing for me. I'll sit here and polish my gun just for fun.
7.
You're the heat rock baby, and I'm the reptile. So funny I forgot to laugh; I guess I owe you a smile. Leather-back girl with a heart full of Susie Q. Break out the ta-tas and get yourself a tu-tu. Pinella Stalla, baby, you got me fishin' the shallows again. Pin dog, needle dog, football donk, how 'bout you? Barracuda boy with a box full of rolled up fruit. In shore lizard swirling like a water spout. Five pound pins and one pound speckled trout.
8.
Nice hoopty, G. Nice truck, Chuck. Nice mini, kid. Nice bike, L rider. Ford or Chevy, what's the heavy difference? They both can ride like a dream, both cars do the same exact thing; yellow scented tree.
9.
Condom Lake 02:21
Give us your best Red Skeleton impersonation. One cat, one fish, one dog, one nation. Emmet Otter's jug band summer. A day of wild splendor. A collection of things to do, this lake loves you. Chocolate chips below, Billy B the river pimp. Sun stays here for all good sake, let's shoot down to Condom Lake.
10.
Mudshark 02:21
I wanna be the one to show you how it feels to catch a shark. I wanna be the one who helps you see right through the dark. I wanna be the one who parades around in your new styles, cuz you're the one who turns my frowns into smiles; miles of smiles. Too rough, too tough, too rough to take.

12.
Parkwood 01:21
Once around the park would do her fine, she's a teenage waste of time. A product of the public schools, she's way too smart and way too cool. Up all night with time to spare, slave to the rave but she don't care. I wonder what's in her bag of tricks; a little weed and some dope fly kicks.
13.
Silver King 02:12
Summer breeze makes me feel fine, I wanna fly along the grape vine. Grab a hold of the night real tight and fly this space ship into the great divine. How long has it been? Since I've touched a Silver King? You started acting obscene, and she felt like a queen. It's all about the facts; as a matter of fact it's all gonna come back. Just give it all some slack, and reel it all right back. How will I ever know? If or when it's time to go? Will I miss the best part of everyone's favorite show?
14.
Maltese 02:00
You call yourself an arborist and you don't know a thing about trees. You never stop to smell the flowers cuz you're too scared of the bees; man, homey please. You say you're super-sonic kid and the whole world can lick on D's. I guess that would make you boy wonder and I would be the falcon of Maltese.
15.
It's like the holy trinity, rage against the ministry, OK-- I'll give it one more day. We play, therefore we are players. It's thre today, gone tomorrow. When ya gonna come out to play? How long has it been since you heard the ultimate sin? Move over bacon, now there's something stupider. We'll hit the buffet like Motley Crue, and we're in... I think we're in it to win it.
16.
Kid Rock 02:11
Must've all went straight to your head, I take back every word I said. Everything could be different now if we found a way somehow. Like a brand new pair of shorts, usually a couple days go by before you find that sticker in your pocket that says "16." So take it in stride; it might take the better part of our lives to find it. Girls don't fight it; girls just try it. Kid Rock is doing alright, you never know maybe tonight's the night, or should I say that we could be the flavor of the day.
17.
Hot Pants 01:37
You would call it catastrophe or a twist of twisted fate, like making the turn without your blinker on. Can I get a second chance? I was blinded by your hot pants. Maybe we could get it right this time, maybe the last ten times were fine. Yes it is a Saturday and no I don't think that you look fatter today. Baby we're around about as much as the American Bison.
18.
Be We 01:27
You took all the wrong roads, you took all the right drugs. You hung with scholars and you hung with thugs. We used to be 16, we used to be 18, now it seems like we're past everything. We can be all those things that you see, or maybe we can just be we. Now we're older and so much stronger, what would it be like to be weaker longer? So tell me if you're ready to try, or tell me if you're ready to fly.
19.
Going too fast and I'm not scared, I've got on clean underwear, and I can tell you lots of tales about boats. So meet me at the Circle Square, and I can help you comb your hair, and we can share a Dr. Pepper float. If you don't want to call it love, then you can call it all of the above. Indie rocker, sugar stopper, moo moo dandy and Bob Cocker, you can show me everything you wrote. Now if you don't know what to do, then I can leave that up to you, and maybe we can just watch Truth or Dare, again.
20.
Fresh Water 01:39
Fresh water is Cypress Trout and faded out jeans, lily pads and turtle submarines and Largemouth Bass and lots of grass, and a cold beer to steer. Cormorants and Anahingas, Leopard Gar and large Mosquitos. Lots of minnows that love Doritos; they'll even eat your spit. So without going a little too far, you can meet me down at the local bar, and we'll shoot the shit and we'll chew the fat, cuz fresh water makes you act like that.
21.
You can tell me that you're male or you're female, I can't tell anymore; I needn't be so sure. You can me there's a miracle of science in my yard, I needn't be so informed. You got a day like a railroad spike and you can tell me everything. Start from the beginning like you did one hundred times before. We can harness the power of these violent Summer storms, and maybe we can be all we can be.
22.
Ever-changing scenery with an iridescent glow. Thanks for all you've done for me; thanks for all the shows. In time we will believe this; in time it will all show. Information highway with an iridescent glow.
23.
Dragonfly 01:49
Hitch a ride on a dragonfly, leave your high car payments far behind. It's a virtue, no one would to a thing to hurt you. Like a Sunset Beach, what will it take for you to reach your peak? It's a virtue, I'll always stand beside you. Sit down, shut up, and hold on: this is one of your favorite songs. This is happily ever after hours, glad I found ya.
24.
Go Steady 01:58
Thanks to Cypress Hill I went too insane. My car is rusted from the Purple Rain and I can hardly take another step. With Chris we play this Wicked Game; Ludaris is my middle name and we can hardly barely pay the rent. The bigger fish have taken hold, trash the plans and break the mold. Things will never ever be the same. So jump into your Swimming Hole, pack a lunch and grab your pole and look at all the things that we can do. So if you're ready then we can go steady; steady as she goes.
25.

26.
Easy Part 01:52
It's all or it's nothing, somebody's bluffing. I think it's plain to see: falling in is the easy part, it's so hard to climb the sea wall. We can talk about the weather, you can say it's now or never. Sell the rights to me.
27.
Stevie 03:14
Once around the block was fun, another day or daytime done, reminds me of the days that we spent walking. Cowboy boots and swimming trunks and Ivory liquid slip-n-slide; I never broke Stevie's walkie talkie. How was I supposed to feel? I was eight, nothing was real, and we were young in the sun. Nowadays we're in the sun, we work until our hands are numb, and things aren't exactly what they seem: fish are smaller, cars are slower, it isn't fun to run the blower... I think you know exactly what I mean.
28.
It seems just like a see-saw to me, everything's running on mp3. Two or maybe three to make it sweet, we're only gonna find out so let's peel out. Running on empty on easy street, two or maybe three to make it sweet. People love people and that's just neat, tell me is it really, watch me pop a wheelie.

When we were young we would ride our bikes; we all wanted to be just like Mike; the Bears of Chicago did the Superbowl Shuffle. Now I didn't care too much for the Bears but I noticed that everywhere we watched them sing and dance and then go to a huddle.
31.
In shore Lizardo in the tropic of the grass. Current Affair should have been there to look at all the Glassy Zate. Portugal Manowese is waiting for the the boy who's in the sun. Ultra-Hydroxy SPF 151.
32.
We should probably book more shows; it could only do us good. We're too lazy for our own good. We should probably straighten up, sometimes I think I should. I'm too lazy for my own good. It's so hard to always be good, even though I know I should. it pulls my drag; I just need to be patient. I can tell by the face you have that you're on the chosen path, I just hope you guys are able. So feed the wishing well. Have a decent tale to tell; don't get caught stealing your cable.

It's a member of the Bad Boy Club, oh no. Life's a beach and she's only rock and roll. Scientific test dirt, get off my tail satan. Why be normal, why be different? Save the whales, don't front on me.
